ACER ASPIRE TIMELINEX-AS3820T Review

The Acer Aspire TimelineX AS3820T laptop has been in the Amazon.com top 10 for some time now (See it here ) so I decided I could ignore no longer. Here is my assessment of this offering from Acer and their exciting TimelineX range.

We think that the ACER ASPIRE-TIMELINEX-AS3820T is most suited for

• For a person or business who wants to spend the absolute minimum possible (but with trade-offs)
• It is for somebody with highly demanding portability requirements
• For the person looking for a laptop that is both sleek and sexy
• For someone who has limited requirements like word processing, web surfing or other light user needs

The sound setup is quite fancy for an ultra portable. Dolby Home Theater v3 Audio Enhancement with basic stereo speakers. But be aware because of the basic speakers you will only take full advantage when connected to something better via the HDMI slot. The The TimelineX is quite special because it has managed to incorporate the power of 4GB of RAM and the i3 CPU at the same time as up to 8 hours battery life.

Samsung RF 711 Sandy Bridge Laptop Review

This laptop is Dark Blue and Grey and Slim and stylish looking. Cool, modern, pleasing color scheme. The SAMSUNG RF711 laptop uses Windows 7 Home Premium editionand comes bundled with Samsung Support Center, Samsung Fast Start, Battery Life Extender, CyberLink YouCam.

For the ful review of the Samsung RF711 or read on for a quick summary. The GPU is not for hardcore gamers as it uses the comparitively slow DDR3 memory indtead of faster GDDR memory. However, combined with the 2630qm CPU it will be more than adequate for reasonable gaming. I think Samsung have got a really well specified laptop in the RF711. It would have been nice to see a better GPU in here but everything is made to a price. And for what you get at a release price of GBP 999 it is probably the best at time of writing for a media creator and good but not great gamer.

This is a nicely specified laptop and HP are to be congratulated. At around $600 there are some really nice features on this HP Pavillion. First a bit about the looks. How much longer will Apple be able to go on charging what they do simply because their Macbooks are stylish? I am not saying that the HP Pavilion dv6-3230us is anything like as cool as a Macbook Air and of course it doesn't have the Mac operating system. First up the Samsung PC 7 laptop series. First glance would suggets this is a bit Dell Duo and of course there are obvious simmilarities. After all, it does slide from laptop to tablet (and back again). Review of the Dell XPS 15 laptop

The current XPS 15 from Dell certainly looks good. It has a really well constructed appearance, prominent and adequate looking vents to keep it cool and it wouldn't look out of place on the passenger seat of a Mustang. The options for CPU are, as often with Dell, far ranging.

The top spec i7-840qm is the one in the configuration now being reviewed but you could save around $400 by opting for the still OK i5-460m. Good choices here. Read the full Dell XPS 15 review.

Dell Precision M6500-W11M6503 Workstation Review

The Dell Precision M6500 is a workstation replacement laptop. A sort of desktop replacement for computer aided designers (CAD), engineering, graphics and animators. The price is extraordinairy compared to most of the laptops we review but that is because of its specialist components. Like the NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800 GPU.

This review is for the top bundle pack W11M6503 with some significant enhancements like the top CPU, dual SSD hard drives etc. However even without the enhancements the base price was £3983 . So this laptop workstation is clearly for the niche professional with very demanding requirements.

Asus Eee Slate EP121-1A011M review

This is an interesting offer from Asus and adds a whole new line of choice for somebody looking for a tablet or just an alternative to the common garden iPad. The big differences between the Asus Eee Slate EP121-1A011M and an iPad are as follows. Full version of Windows 7. The NVIDIA 310m GPU in the Samsung q430 is by no means a gamers GPU but it does have dedicated memory and it will play many (but not all) current games in low-medium quality settings. This laptop could be a good find if you enjoy a bit of gaming on the side. The keyboard isn't perfect and probably not for the long report writer also the media card reader is only a 3in1 but this might not bother you.
