AMD A8-3500m APU ratings

Today Which-Laptop.com published it's ratings for the AMD A8-3500m APU. It is the second of the new so-called APU's from AMD to receive a rating and comes in barely below the top of the A8 range of laptop CPU's the A8-3530MX.

AMD A8-3530MX review

The A8 series 3530MX is the meanest and badest of the first wave of new APU's from AMD. And even before the first laptops with the new 3530MX hits the shelves there is evidence that it has some significant advantages over Intel and their latest Sandy Bridge chips.

HP TouchPad

The HP TouchPad, at long last, brings something completely new to tablet hunters.

To start with the hardware in the HP TouchPad is impressive. It is run by the Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060. This powerful Asynchronous Dual Core CPU works at it's top speed (1.2 GHZ) in both cores simultaneously. It beats the iPad 2 CPU by some way.

The other defining and new-to-tablets feature of the HP TouchPad is the operating system. HP webOS is a multitasking OS and can almost seamlessly handle multiple apps as well as doing a better job of handling notifications than either Android based tablets or the iPad 2.

AMD Fusion A-series

The new AMD Llano (the codename) CPU's took on a more real form recently when HP and AMD announced 11 new Fusion A-series (the real name) laptops.

The laptops will feature from the full range of CPU's and will compete directly and strongly with the latest lower-mid to mid-high level Intel Sandy Bridge CPU's.
